Permanent collection

May 5

The Fabuloserie was created by Alain Bourbonnais to house his art “hors-les-normes” collection. The permanent collection brings together the creations of more than 100 self-taught artists related to art brut. Conceived as a real cabinet of curiosities, La Fabuloserie is composed of two spaces : the " house-museum " (including paintings and drawings by Philippe Dereux and Philippe Mahaut, sculptures and assemblages by Emile Ratier and Pascal Verbena, the Tribe of Turbulents by Alain Bourbonnais ...) and the " jardin habité " (including sculptures by landscape dwellers such as Camille Vidal, Jules Damloup, but also Jean Bertholle's weathervanes and the famous merry-go-round of Petit Pierre).

Alain Bourbonnais' workshop opens its doors to the public, 2014

In 2014, " L’Atelier " (workshop), conceived by Alain Bourbonnais in the park of the museum, is opened to the public for the first time. A visit of this place with an unusual architecture permits the discovery of his amazing paintings and remarkable, truculent engravings.

The Time of Collections, a tribute to Caroline Bourbonnais, 2015

In tribute to Caroline Bourbonnais (1924-2014), the permanent collection has been redesigned to highlight her acquisitions.

For more than twenty-five years, Caroline Bourbonnais worked to enhance the collection “art hors-les-normes” and to enrich it with works by new creators, some of whom are presented in the museum.
